In 2020, Vizient announced its Community Contracting Program for contract opportunities which now includes certified businesses owned by people who are LGBTQIA+. This expansion of its Supplier Diversity Program from minority-, women-, disabled- and veteran-owned businesses includes not just national supplier contracts for Vizient’s member hospitals and other organizations, but offers contract opportunities for local and small to medium sized businesses through Community Contracting and additional opportunities for suppliers through Vizient corporate purchases as well.

Community Contracting creates regional collectives around the nation, simplifying the process for participating providers to commit to purchasing products or services from diverse suppliers in and around their communities. Participating suppliers gain access to Vizient  data, resources and insights — as well as capacity-building opportunities — to help achieve business goals.
